LOL i dream em up, Bob makes them. i've sent him a burled maple which is a pattern i have never seen in wood, the burl made large dark ovals all over the wood, they aren't jumbled up or anything like that. i call it the feather scales cause that's what they kind of resemble. so it came to me last night after Bob and I thinking about them for 3 weeks or so, make the splotches look more like feathers, stipple the quill down the center and extend them a bit like a pulled out feather looks, some hint of the vanes, just a hint. told Bob about it and they will soon be in process
Got my new barrel threaded and installed on the Remington 700 .243.
