I've also tried a nylon Uncle Mike's :disappoin and a rig from the now defunct Assault Systems brand. Anybody remember them? Actually, I think they changed their name to Shooting Systems or sumthin' er other.

Yessir! Had one of their shoulder rigs "back in the day". Pistol under left arm, dual magazine pouch and fixed-blade knife sheath under the right. Once you set that critter where you wanted it, everything stayed in place.

Lost it in the move about 10 years back. Still unhappy about it.

For the OP - Yes, especially when driving (or riding as a passenger) for long trips and - as Lone Wolf 49 previously stated - when hunting. It's always there and yet supremely out of the way. It doesn't snag on tress when you're hunting, and - as you said - it doesn't become a hassle with the safety belt assembly when in a vehicle.
