I am but currently retired.

hold it up to the screen and let's take a look!

Here is my issue!

Hey Folks... I have a Browning A-Bolt 30-06 with the Boss System rifle. I have had it for approx 14 years. The scope is a Nikon Monarch 4x12x40 which is also about 14 years old. For some reason I can not get this gun to group. I have zero confidence in this gun and we are a week and a half away from Rifle season...

So this leads me to my post....

1. How do you check to see if your scope is broke?

2. Does my barrel need to be re-floated?

3. Who here can do that for me at a reasonable price??

Please let me know ASAP... I do realize this is late notice... LOL

I'm just going to throw this out there.

1. check and make sure all rings and mounts are tight.
2. re-boresight your scope
3. go zero your rifle

I know this may sound asinine but make sure you keep the same sight picture when you zero. When I was in the Army I did not truly understand this and I spent all day zeroing my M4, because my group was all over the place.

All this will cost maybe $50 for ammo, a boresighter, and range time. If it's still off then take it to a gunsmith or buy a new scope.

How bad are the groups?
Have you tried just taking the whole thing apart and putting it back together with proper torque?
You can check the scope with laser bore sighter.
