Call an auto parts store. They get money from battery distributors for the cores. If I remember right the UPS batteries aren't much different than a sealed ATV battery. They might take them for nothing. It seems like scrap recycling centers will take them also. I usually just throw my old batteries, left over paint, and tires, in my neighbors trash cans on trash day. See Item 3 on post #5, but be careful busting them open that crap burns. Good Luck.
