OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Justin Humphrey, R-Lane, today submitted a letter to the state's attorney general, to the sheriff of Pushmataha County, to the governor and to other judicial and law enforcement agencies asking for an investigation into an alleged raid by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on a Pushmataha County resident and business owner that resulted in the forfeiture of the man's federal firearms license.

Humphrey said he was contacted by Russell Fincher, who lives and owns a firearms business in Clayton, who said his home had been raided by about a dozen ATF agents who coerced him at gunpoint into signing pre-prepared paperwork to terminate his federal firearms license. Fincher said his 13-year-old son was present during the raid.

"If this report is true, and I have every reason to believe it is, then it would appear the ATF’s actions constitute a gross misuse and abuse of their federal police powers."

Humphrey said he knows Fincher not only as a business owner in his House district but as a schoolteacher and a pastor.

Humphrey said another matter of concern is that one agent is reported to have told Fincher, “Tell your firearms buddies we are coming after them.”

"This seems an obvious illegal threat," Humphrey said.

Humphrey, the chair of the House Criminal Justice and Corrections Committee, said he has helped pass legislation that allows law-abiding citizens the right to constitutionally carry firearms and that state that Oklahoma county sheriffs should not allow the illegal seizure of such firearms by federal agents.

He is asking those to whom he's reaching out to investigate whether ATF agents abused police powers to force and extort Mr. Fincher into terminating his federal firearms license and whether agents made threats toward all Oklahoma firearms dealers.

"As an Oklahoma state representative, I believe I have a duty and obligation to declare our state should not allow the intentional and egregious actions of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to deny Oklahomans of their rights to own and carry firearms," he said.

The ATF needs to be cautious. I do believe they are in support of those who would disarm all of us . We seem to be under an incremental subjugation effort, starting with our disarmament. An armed populace is the best defense against tyrants, dictators, and despots. Being in the aid of such despicable people is un-American, even if the results of the ATF actions end up being an unintended consequence of their ignorance of the danger We the People face under the threat of conquest.

If the people we elected and their minions will not support the Constitution, we will have to do it on our own. A good place to start is at the ballot box.

The government we elect is supposed to protect our rights and freedoms, not their positions and power.

Meh... When the OSBI, County Sheriffs and Tribal Police start raiding ATF offices to reclaim property and make arrests I might get interested. Until then it's just another stern letter and absolutely nothing is gonna come from it. If litigation results and they win for the guy it'll be years from now. Yawn...

Don't ever let apathetic rhetoric let them think they(the ATF and their ilk) are immune to justice, the Constitution, and the ire of We the People. Get pissed, stay pissed, and let those we elected know we elected them to protect our rights. If anyone is expendable, it is politicians who take oaths and do not abide them nor represent us. We have elections for just that reason.

Since their foundation during Prohibition, the ATF now the BATF, have been nothing more than glorified tax collectors and armed enforcers of government whims. They should have never existed and ought to be disbanded immediately, along with several other 3 letter agencies not needed by the citizens of our nation.

MOST of the alphabet agencies should be eliminated.

ATF, in this case, investigated and if / when found at fault, restitution paid and punitive damages paid by the guilty parties, in the form of their retirement accounts, followed by their dismissal and banned from goobermint employment or any civil service.

from EPOCH Times
TUSKAHOMA, Okla.—As agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) left Russell Fincher’s house with 50 legally-owned firearms and his freshly relinquished Federal Firearms License (FFL), they offered him a tip.

“They said, ‘Tell all your FFL friends we’re coming for them next,’” Mr. Fincher told The Epoch Times.

An ATF spokesman said he could not comment on the June 16, 2023, raid at Mr. Fincher’s home in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma.
