About the accomplishments of the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community? Or the celebrating, by a controversial government agency, of the accomplishments of gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender members of said agency?

There are Black Officer Associations, Hispanic Officer Associations, Christian Officer Associations, so who cares if there are Gay Officer Associations. As long as they do their jobs correctly, why does it matter?

But I have to ask, why do we have to recognize any of these groups? Why can't they just be recognized as individuals that are doing a good job?
