I have a Marlin 1895G .45/70 that will be heading my way soon. Just sent the money off yesterday. Aside from the 3" shells out of a shotgun. This will be the hardest hitter I will own, currently.
45-70 Handi Rifle
going hunting with it this deer season.
Dad a Trapdoor Springfield when I was growing up.
I really loved that rifle. He was gonna give it to me but it was stolen along with 20 or so other rifles and pistols he owned.
Last year my wife bought the Handi-Rifle for me for christmas deer season was over by then so had to wait till this year.
I really like the 45-70 and am looking forward to this years hunt.
Does a .73 caliber rifled slug gun count? Or .45-70? Or. .50 Cal smokeless powder muzzleloader? If so, then yes. But no, don't shoot anything more more case capacity than 9.3x62mm.
