Wow. I don't know what to say.

The District is paying 305 students with poor academic and behavioral records to attend summer school, The Washington Examiner has learned.

The rising ninth-graders are earning $5.25 an hour to participate in the "Summer Bridge" program, which targets students identified by D.C. Public Schools as less likely than their peers to graduate high school within four years.

WTF. Future Bam Bam supporters. There is more to gain by not trying. Where were they when I was 15. That is way easier than building fence and shoveling manure. Someone needs to do a documentary and follow these kids to see if they actually graduate and where they are four years after highschool.

I got paid when i went to summer school. $3.35hr. Went to class from 8am till noon, worked painting and mowing from 1pm to 4pm.

I looked at it like, "they're paying me to go to summer school and graduate".
