Can someone help me???

My father-in-law was given this ammo back in 1963 by a friend of his who had just got out of the army. He has had them ever since and kept them in a drawer until the Christmas holiday when he gave them to me. I know they are .45 acp. But can anyone tell me more about them? Are they worth anything as a collectors item?

I am not a collector of anything. But what you have is Militarty Ball Ammo. We used to shoot the stuff by the case. Most of the Military has gone over to the 9mm stuff. I don't see any other value in it except for shooting. Have fun. later rdd

I doubt that you will get anything as a "collector". But the good ole Millitary Ball Ammo is fun to shoot. Do you happen to have a .45 that you can play with?

IF it is in original unopened boxes and dates to WWII it
might be of interest to a collecter. If not shot it.

Whats the headstamp say? Should say WCCXX, with the X's being numbers representing the year of manufacture. WCC63, for example.

The head stamp says. WCC54. Does that mean it was produced in 1954? Is it even safe to shoot now?

Yes, thats the year of manufacture. Its safe to shoot.

I cannot think of a better reason to go out and purchase a 1911. If you are on a budget consider Rock Island Armory, decnt guns for the price.
