I agree 100%. Most of the people I know failed the pre-trip the first time.
Well, I went for my first attempt at the driving portion of the CDL test in Enid this morning and I passed the walk around, air brakes, straight backing and offset parking. But i did not pass the off side parallel parking portion. Although I practiced, they have shrunk the space you have to get in. It turns out its only 12 foot wide and you get 5 feet in front and 5 feet in back. I was practicing in a 15 foot wide spot and it sure makes a big difference.
I will be practicing more on the parking portion but it was interesting to say the least. I will reschedule and take another stab continuing where I left off.
