Reminds me of a thread I saw on the firearms forum of my previous state, .45 Golden Saber through the thigh from a 1911 that the operator was trying to field strip

Dang! I saw a couple of accidents at the range when I worked there. And many of you know I lost a classmate to a negligent discharge. I do not **** around and I don't tolerate any ****ing around. It's all fun and games until somebody dies.

Glad he's looking at a quick recovery!
Me, I've only shot a door knob with an "unloaded" .45 ACP. And, yes, I did hit what I was aiming at!

We had an officer back home fresh out the academy send a 45 Hydra Shok through roughly the same place. Lots of gun handling experience etc, so ya. It can happen.

He's now a 2 term Sheriff and he'll tell you he learned a very valuable lesson.......with each and every footstep......for a few months. I'm sure this guy will the same.

Ouch! Glad it wasn't a little lower and right. Might have been a lot worse

Keens are my favorite shoes!! I heard some good advice once from the late James Yeager "Don't train yourself to pull the trigger on a gun unless your pointing at a desired target." This was his response to those who have gotten use to clearing a striker fired weapon and then pulling the trigger to release spring tension while stored. I think it's a good practice regardless of weapon type.

Folks, I've made my mistakes so not here to judge for sure, but be careful out there and don't get complacent with your hobbies! Got this from my old work buddy, 22 mag thru the foot from a revolver that didn't get checked properly. He has DECADES of gun handling under his belt, and it still happened! FWIW, he did say his Keen work shoe stopped the bullet, and no bone contact so hopefully a quick heal up. Just watch yourselves (and each other)...

That will definitely make the pee come out. I have a similar story from when I was a wee rebellious yin. Better outcome praise be...

My old man was headed to Alaska and the last words before he got on the plane were don’t mess with the pistols while I’m gone. Yeah right!
