There's a whole lot about this in that article that should send up red flags to everyone who takes the time to read it.

The following is an example of what to expect: ELA English Language Arts Common Core curriculum produced by PEARSON is getting the national spotlight shone on it. It contains extreme left Marxist/Communist political statements integrated into English lessons which have been purchased and used in some elementary school classrooms.

Political indoctrination is found in the PEARSON worksheet titled “Hold the Flag High.” Students are taught about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. The assignment instructs students to make sentences “less wordy by replacing the underlined words with a possessive noun phrase.” It directs fifth-graders to edit such sentences as:

“(The president) makes sure the laws of the country are fair.”

“The wants of an individual are less important than the well-being of the nation.”

“The commands of government officials must be obeyed by all.”

As educated adults we know the president’s job does not include making sure laws are fair. That belongs to the judicial branch. The president’s executive branch duty is to administer laws. The other sentences stating the “well-being of the nation” is above the “wants of an individual” and “commands of government officials must be obeyed by all” are Marxist/Communist and anti-American sentiments.
