Due to Bidenomics corn prices in my area and I’m sure everywhere are at $10 for 40 pounds I’m looking for alternatives other than the usual places like Wally World and tractor supply or just other feed alternatives. Do y’all have any advice?
just go ahead and buy the corn and enjoy the savings when you fill up at the pump. i hope the savings at the pump compensate for higher food prices?????
We have a local guy that sells by the ton from his grain bins. He was quite a bit cheaper than the bagged stuff. 1 ton will keep 4 feeders running for the season. I don’t start the feeders until mid September.
Commodity prices for corn as I type this is $4.93 a bushel (56 pounds)!
You could always grow some organic open pollinated field corn like Wapsie Valley.
It has 2x the protein as crappy hybrids or the roundup ready garbage!
Makes great eggs if you run it through some chickens.
Makes great cornbread and corn muffins too!
I'd be damed if I would willingly share it with the stinking deer though!
God made deer to eat grass, save your money and quit feeding the deer corn!

has anyone tried molasses for the deer?
There’s been all kinds of supplements with molasses, and the deer will come to them.
I bought bulk corn a couple times and it was a waste. If the growth was stopped using roundup to preserve max weight, the deer won’t hardly touch it. Most of it rotted away. The coons had a heck of a time though.
i have seen tracks around lick tubs.
