I got this picture a couple days ago, and by the way this rack is starting, it’s making me want say screw the cost and go ahead and fill the protein feeder to try to help him grow into those bases.
If the weather/rain allows it, my plan is to plant food plots instead of dumping protein out of a sack.
My corn feeders are set to throw 3 seconds twice a day, but I normally increase the time by at least double during deer season. I more than likely won’t do that if corn prices rise like is being speculated.
My brother and I did that a few years ago here in TX.
I’m thinking if I don’t feed protein I’m going to spend the money to plant big BFO plots. I generally plant wheat with DeerSlayer’s food plot blend mixed in, but everyone I know that plants BFO’s swears by them.

What?!? Was it feeder corn or deer corn? Atwood’s has deer corn for around $9/40 lbs. Tractor Supply is typically higher than Atwood’s but not $12 a bag higher. If it was feeder corn, that’s still crazy expensive.
If that’s the case, it’s gone up $12/bag in a week (which isn’t out of the realm of possibility), but I bought several bags at TSC for $8.99 last week. I hope this isn’t right, because if so, I missed the opportunity to stock up for fall.
