I agree. But he had plenty of open vents on that compensated .22 so probably not an issue. And I hate ticks...so good for him.

Muzzleloader guys do that all the time especially when hunting in an environment where there may be moisture. A piece of tape over the muzzle keep the moisture out and will just blow or burn off when the gun is shot.
