Do you carry extra mags as part of your EDC setup?

If you do, how do you carry them?

This is especially asked towards people that EDC smaller calibers with smaller capacity magazines, like say a .380ACP that holds 7 or 8 rounds.

I'm a front weak side pocket guy too. Seems more comfortable than sitting on a mag in the back pocket or stuffing something else in my waistband.

Carrying a spare mag is highly recommended, for capacity concerns but more importantly malfunction issues. One thing to ponder: even if you carry a spare mag, I would carry a nice small fixed blade knife. If you have a phase III, even a phase II malfunction you're probably screwed. The odds of you clearing the malfunction before the encounter is over is minimal. If you happen to have a squib load you're effed. So, IMHO carrying a small fixed blade knife, or a second gun, is at least as important as a spare mag.

I'm definitely a believer in carrying at least one spare mag when toting a single stack semi-auto. Spare will usually go in an available front pocket. Also I have an ISP rig for a single 1911 mag as well as a double belt pouch for S&W Shield and similar.

I'm making a leather wallet holster for my LCP (just have pattern cut out as of now) I intend to install a pouch for a spare mag.. Looks like it will fit a mag just under the grip, this will be carried with gun toward body front or back pocket..

I'll post pics when I'm done...
