this company started making them but I haven't seen them in stores

THIS!

I ordered an entire case of 60 of the Curly Wurlys from one of those specialty candy shops a few years back and all of us children of the 70/80s went crazy over them. You'd be surprised how quickly 60 magnificent candy bars can disappear. :D

BTW you other old candy lovers, it's all mostly available online.

I used to get some Carnation brand breakfast bars ( circa 1974-79) that were fantastic with a cold glass of milk, Some Jackazz decided he could "improve' them Now they are gone

Cotton Boll chewing tobacco. Can't find it anywhere in Oklahoma.

Cohiba

Are you talking about Cotton Boll Twist?

I chewed lots of tobacco back in the day, but that was the nastiest thing I ever tried!

The second nastiest was Days Work Plug tobacco,

Red Hot Cinnamon Toothpicks

OH MAN! I used to love those things.

The ones that come in the clear flat cellophane with the bright red writing. The toothpicks were those flat kind that tapered.

We used to keep them in our mouth until we'd start getting splinters and then go ahead and chew them up into a big wet hot cinnamon ball of wood pulp to get every last drop of spicy hot goodness out. (wait a minute, that sounds like something purplehaze does in the late nite hours).

Anyway... ya those were awesome!

One of my most very favorite candy memories was sitting in the old Poncan Theater with a package of bottlecaps (loved the rootbeer flavored ones) and watching afternoon matinees during the summer.

If y'all are wanting to relive some of these memories... check this out:

Red Hot Cinnamon Toothpicks

We used to make those when I was in Jr. High. Just get some cinnamon oil and soak toothpicks in a jar.

It got so popular, that they banned cinnamon oil from our school. The oil tends to blister you skin.

I still have a jar full I made back then, about 35 years ago! The last time I tried one, a couple of years ago, they were still good.
