Exactly, I've got 2 older Marlin rifles with that Micro-groove barrel, & they are accurate & consistent as anything.

Nothing bad to be daid about it here

With micro-groove, bullet to bore size is critical. Leading can be severe.

I have micro-groove 336 in .30-30.
I have an older, ballard 336 in .30-30

The ballard rifling is superior.

Ah, I see. I was thinking of their micro-grove .22s. I have heard that for large calibers it's not so great.

Secret bunker in an undisclosed location.
I have several 336s and a couple of 1894s with the micro-groove rifling. I shoot cast lead almost exclusively out of all of them. Yes, when I first started with cast bullets I learned how to clean lead out of badly leaded bores. The key to cast in a micro-groove is bullet size. I size to .310 for .30-30 and .360 for .357/.38 and .454 for .45 Colt. Use a good lube and leading is not an issue if you keep velocity to appropriate levels.
I am not saying Ballard rifling isn't better, just that micro-groove gets an undeserved bad rap.
