Have a 7x 4x’ unground storm shelter door, 198lbs of solid steel, what is scrap price these days. Shelter company won’t give me credit if I give it back, so he’ll i Can scrap it. It would make a hell of a long range target, better than net zero.

my guess? About $20 if you don't get docked for it being too big. The yard has a buyer which demands it be under a certain dimension. If it is too big they will dock you because they would have to cut it up. You might be better posting it here with good pictures probably get more money

Yeah it’s not scrap, I just need a tab welded on, now that I have it off, I will probably do the tab and be done

At 200 lbs,
At the going rate for scrap steel,
You would be lucky to get $6.

Be best to keep it & repurpose it.

Brother and I cleaned up around the shop and took a load of prepared-3 foot or shorter- and got $195/ton. Several old pieces of machinery, plows, disc and lots of scrap pipe from building pens. That was on the 9th of this month. Put a second load together and set the Geiger counter off due to a piece of hot pipe. Had 9 ton on the trailer and had the hot piece of pipe narrowed down to somewhere in the front and towards the bottom. Asked them if I could dump it and then take the detector and find the piece of pipe. They told me no. I then asked them if I could just dump it and give it to them because I did not want to haul it home. They said that would be ok. I told them “I’m sure it would be” and hauled it home. That load is still on the trailer. UuGGHh!
