Well, last night I got to try out this set up.

Yes, I know. It has been over a year since I did it, but hadn't needed it till now.

Saw on the weather that the ice man cometh soon.

Laid out the chord and plugged it into the house.

Figured all I'd need to do was crank up the generator, plug in the other end, flip two breakers and I'd have power.

Viola!!

That is exactly what I did!! Damn thing worked!!!

Been running since last night. Really nice to be able to walk the house in warmth, turn on any light switch and have light and have the grandkids play video games.

Only think I screwed up was the gas cans.

I was sure that I had 20 gallons put back.

Turned out I had rotated some into the truck and hadn't refilled them.

Took care of that last night.

I might suggest getting a lockout devise and put on the main breaker just so someone that isnt familiar with your setup doesnt come along and throw the main back on.
