Recently, having talked to some friends that are more knowledgeable than I in that circle. There have been attempts (setups) to catch-up private sellers willing to do things like sell across state lines knowingly, where the sob story buyer ends up being a fed. It wouldn't surprise me if the seller of that gun had ties to them/or was selling guns with "Solvent Traps" already attached, to help entrap more gun owners.
