The soda tax thread with GolfWhiskey and I going back and forth was good stuff.

Good call on the kbolt post, cards. Here's dennishoddy in top form, e-slapping some sense into the paranoid.

Been following this thread closely.
Now I understand how the city folk founder and die anywhere outside of their computer, and asphalt streets.
I' m not sure how Jim Bridger, and a host of mountain men, plus tens of thousands of settlers on horseback, and wagon trains ever got outside of the city limits.
They went thousands of miles across uncharted territories without a strobe or gps.

Enjoy your hike buddy.

Here's kbolt when he made it back, making all the Oprah-watching dudes feel real silly for telling him that going for a hike on a public trail was a death wish.

I did not reach the summit, However.... I did reach my goal.

Here"s a few pics. http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e309/seaboltk/colorado trip 2010/

The latter....My inner spirit has been reset....It was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I loved every minute of it.
The weather from 13,500 ft up was brutal.....I froze my water bladder, The altitude was killing me the first couple of days, I had To shorten my hike by about half, but that gave me more time to play around.
I didn,t see anyone for the first three days, then I met a guy hiking the trail in the opposite direction, We talked for about 20 mins and moved on.
I also hiked up to the ruby gold mine and ghost town, and down pikes peak.
I had a lot of fun, But, it feels really good to be home.

The dog was delicious......:yikes2:

There's an ignerntbend post (it was a thread) about a girl that checked out an anatomy book at his school in west Texas and was thought to be a pervert. It was a masterpiece but I think it was lost in the server crashes. Iggy, if you still have it stored between your ears, lay it down here.

Man, I'll have to dig deep. One of my favorite mauser quotes was a reply to a thread asking about shooting gloves. Mauser had a line (loose paraphrase) " 'spose those gloves will be fine fer protectin hands that ain't never stretched barbed wire."

mauser in response to someone telling him he was too stupid to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel: (loose paraphrase) "never encountered such a problem with my boots 'cause in all these years NO MAN has dared piss in em"

If I still have him iggied (no offense beard) and you repost one of his quotes will I see it? His posts would kill my brain.

My wife and I took our SL 550 out for a spin late this afternoon. Headed down to lake Tenkiller. Took the back highway past Greenleaf Lake and Camp Gruber. Stopped and had a malt and cheeseburger in Brags. It was awesome!

If you guys are in the area, you should try it.

The entire thread devoted to PBR:

Wore my Body Armour today ...

Had to make a trip to 44th North Peoria ... There's a tire shop that works on industrial tires. They are the best I've found in Tulsa for tough gnarly tires like on my Case 1854B skid steer.

first took my 16.5 skid steer tire to a southside tire store ... they had trouble getting tire to inflate and claimed rim was bad. what they didn't have/want to use was a messy grease/soap goop that seal tire bead to rim. this mess allows difficult tires to inflate and hold air.

anyways... looked like there was no way around it... a trip to North Peoria was needed if I wanted my skid steer to work.

with all the recent northside shootings... thought wearing body armour would be prudent and couldn't hurt. the trip was uneventful and got my skid steer tire fixed by the pro's at North Tulsa Tires.

how often do you wear your body armour?

Long story short, there was recently a HUGE military operation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to clear some entrenched drug gangs out of the slums there. There's a news article about it here.

However, the story isn't really why I'm posting. I found a great series of pictures of the fighting. Blah blah devastation and carnage blah blah human tragedy blah blah blah, what's really important is that there's some good gun porn in there if you flip through it. These pictures have been making the rounds of the gun boards but I haven't seen them here.

Oh also there's these guys.

This guy is the closest to an 80's movie action hero of any real-life action hero I've seen.

And this guy...

...wow. Anyone ever read the "Preacher" series? This guy could have been in that.

The poopgiggle post was a simply a nice repost of Brazilian pics, but it spawned the infamy that is epic beard guy.
