Dubh Linn:

Kehoes
St James Gate
Jameson Distillery
Trinity College (mainly the library)
Temple Bar
Kilmainham Gaol
St. Patricks Cathedrale
General Post Office (or better yet, take a 1916 rebellion tour)

Or just go native, hit some public houses and wonder about.

Can't help you on London.

Whitey, I have a picture of the GPO and a picture of Michael Collins on my desktop. It's a good reminder of things.

Another question. Should I get some local currency before I leave or are there ATMs I can use once I am over there to withdraw euros/pounds?

Maybe a small amount in loose cash before you go... and get a no foreign fee credit card and use it. I really dont like travelling with cash. I usually take an appropriate credit card, and withdraw cash when I am over there IF I need it.

Bus tour outside of London:
Canterbury Cathedral and castle tour, lots of History in the castles.
I spent a week there and did not get to see all I wanted, would love to go back.

Tower of London would be up there for me

These. It has been a long time since I visited England and one thing I never got a chance to do was see HMS Victory at Portsmouth.
