Terry: Can't thank you and your lovely wife enough for the visit. Wife and I was just talking about you two. She appreciates it as well. God bless
Which facility was this? Not a fan of a Cancer treatment clinic facility in Oklahoma, and I'll tell you why.
My very best friend, of over 40 years, was suddenly diagnosed with stage for pancreatic cancer. We are both the same age and our families traveled/vacationed often together. He worked for an agency like mine and we traveled all over the US on business trips for all our adult lives. In other words, other than my wife and daughter, no person on the face of the earth meant more to me.
I would take him to his chemo treatments at this facility. From the first protocol through the last (and the end) he had the same Doctor. This guy was a prick 5 foot zero with an attitude. My buddy was in the midst of chemo brain (some of you will know what that is) and was having problems with remembering things and sometimes losing the words to express what he wanted to ask. This little twink would run in type on the computer and run out so he can overcharge as many people as possible that day and get back to his 3 million dollar home before my pal could get him to ask a question. I had all I could take and my buddy knew it.
The next trip, the night before, I was sitting on his couch and making a list his wife and he wanted asked. The next day, prior to his treatment, was when the little twink would pretend he actually interacted with his patient before treatment.
There I sat as he flailed away at the keys and my buddy was asking a question and he just blew him off and headed for the door as usual. I caught him by his lab coat as he went by. I told him that he was asking you some questions and you blew him off. He said "Just who are you". That was it. I stood up and told him "I'm the guy that's telling you to sit your f..ing ass down and answer the questions". He shut up and sat down and I went through the list of questions. He answered them all but wasn't happy. Nervous as hell but not happy.
I fully expected to be arrested, or at least escorted from the facility. I sat with him the long time of the chemo iv's thinking "I wonder what my bail would be". Nothing happened.
I was sure I would not be allowed in on the next visit, but no problem.
I wasn't allowed in with him and the Dr. but at that point his wife was accompanying us to every visit. I swore then, and now, if I ever see him on the street, I'll knock the s&%t out of him.
Dr's aren't Gods, as much as they may think so. Most are good and caring but the ones that aren't need to be checked and checked hard.
Sorry about how long this was, it just hit me.
Let me know. We have some great places this way.I've noticed that there are some wildlife management areas in your area. We might just have to get to see you and maybe see about me getting some photos in those areas. Possibly in the Spring when things green up again.
