Its called margins, some items have higher margins, or profits than others.

Great value brand dairy is packaged at the same plants that package a few name brand items, yet which costs more? Most of the times you are paying for the name on the label. I will admit some items name brand is the only way to go. imo.

One thing where I will not skimp is on barbecue sauce. It's gotta be KC Masterpiece.

Cake, that's another thing priced through the roof: cakes, donuts, pies and pastries. Just sugar, shortening and starch. I should have be a NABISCO crackers or Sara Lee executive: I'm entirely in the wrong racket.

You can bake your own cake. And you can make it with quality ingredients!

You'll have to run the oven though!


Shortening is not a quality ingredient!

Most people have flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, milk and vanilla at home already!

Add a can of pineapple, some butter and brownsugar and walla!

You might want to try Walmart's brand (smoke or regular). It's surprisinbly good.

Is that by chance the Justin Wilson recipe for a pineapple upside down cake? I've been meaning to try that one.
