Actually my little Lincoln 110 does quite well for anything less than 1/4". With flux core wire it is easy to take most anywhere.

Hipshot, you are welcome to use mine, can't get it to you until Thursday though.

got a extra fully charged 12V car batt around your house or shop?, take it to job site, attach ground to - on the batt, electrod holder to + and do some DC welding, thats what a lot of off-roaders do.you can take some old used jumper cables and use them to make your welding cables.you may need some practice to do a good bead with this setup.Couldn't be any worse than Horror Freight 110V "welder"and cheaper too.
