I am ashamed and pissed at myself :pissed::mad::pissed:

Put a scope on my mossberg 500. Instructions state "use loctite" when attaching base. I put 1 drop of blue loctite on each screw and called it good. I did not realize that 1 drop was way too much. The surplus loctite leaked into the action and trigger group.

Of course my dumb ass did not think anything of it, why should i, it cycled just fine once scope was mounted. :screwy:

Well, you guessed it, next day everything is locked tight (pun intended)!
Disassembly is not working since I can't get the barrel off because the action is locked.
I got the trigger group out and saw the blue demon everywhere.

FUUUK

take it to a gun smith? Got any cleaning recommendations, like solvents that might eat the loctite?

What to do?

Please laugh and joke all you want.

How big of one drop did you use?
Heat will sometimes loosen up loctite also.

One drop like below into each hole (4 total)

Try depressing the button to work the slide with one hand, the other hand on the pump action. Then rap it into the floor a couple times.
What color Loctite did you use? Blue shouldn't be so stout that you can't work it lose.

I have tried that, and am still trying it. It was the blue kind.
