I just bought a 22/45 Lite a few weeks ago and I've had to clean it a couple times since then. The first time taking it apart I almost ordered this:

Since then I've noticed it's getting a little (VERY little) easier to take apart and put together. I'm still considering getting the speed strip kit. :-)

If your just going to buy a Ruger 22lr for plinking fun, just save your money, and all the headaches, just buy the Ruger SR22 pistol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, my friend has a Mark II that he bought used and it has been taken apart a lot more than my 22/45 and it's a LOT easier to take apart. I'm still considering getting that kit anyway though just for the simplicity of taking it down to clean it. Less wear and tear on the gun that way.
