I had the privilege of attending IMSA sportscar races in the early 80's. The Mazda GTP prototypes were so loud that they would almost damage your ears--in the grandstands. It was a beautiful sound, but a painful one.

The GT40 sounds great, but I like the Jag XKSS even better. The 599 GTB Fiorano sounds VERY angry.
It's not all that impressive at idle compared to the 599, but at full wail, no street car sounds quite like the Pagani Zonda F:
