Is there still any interest in the tried and true Win .270

Imo I agree that it has slowed the classics down and I'm sure that if pushed it could spark a whole argument with the crowd that always has to have the latest and greatest
It's 99% advertising and marketing imo. No game animals can tell the difference between a .264 bullet and a .277 bullet of the same kind traveling at the relatively same speed and I could just about guarantee that the 6.5 cartridges outsold the 270 and 3006 combined by a bunch over the last 5 years.

I'm glad people jump on the band wagon for the newest and hottest cartridge out. That means they might sell their dad's Remington 700 BDL or Ruger tang safety in .270. I'm hoping someone has a Browning BAR in .270 that they are going to let go for a good price too.
I believe there was on for sale here recently.

I started hunting with a Ruger M77 Ultralite 270 Win in 1985 and still shoot it occasionally, but I hunt with a pre64 Winchester 70 FWT 270 Win the most now. I didn’t kill a deer with it last year but did take out two coyotes.

oh please the .270 is a great round, its just a 30-06 necked down to .270,, its flatter shooting and slightly more accurate than the 06..expand the 06 up to the .338-06 and u get a great big game non magnum round,,Elmer Keith thought very highly of it..but then he wanted a round that he could shoot a elk or deer in the rump ,have the bullet expand and go all the way through till the bullet took out the heart and lungs,,now jack o conner would only take prefect side shots on a game animal, its why he preferred the more accurate .270.i have noticed here in OKC that usually .270 outnumbers 30-06 on the store shelves..

Dead round!

Just like the .30-06, .30-30, .45-70 are DEAD.

Many of those latest, greatest whiz bangs are already all but extinct. How many will be around to celebrate 100 years of production? 150 years?
