...and now we have a ready made reason to cancel round 2 of the sequestration cuts to the defense budget (and even less will get done about the budget).

Meh... Obama really had to do something to at least give the appearance of saving face, he's already just a court jester. The cuts to the cuts are just icing.

If ANYONE understands politics in the Middle East, I'd like to meet him.

It is not that hard to understand, they will even openly tell you about it if you care to listen and not put our ideals into the picture. It comes down to power and money same as everywhere else, but they think it is really cool to lie and cheat their way to it. We do it here too but not with the same openness about it. Heck if you listen to a speech given by an Arab politician to the US or UN, there is a good chance the speech he gives to his followers the next day will say the exact opposite to what he told us.

They also respect power and the willingness to us it. That is why the old Soviet Union had more real friends in the middle east then we did. They knew if they screwed with the old soviet leaders, the soviets would screw them back. We tend to fight trying not to upset anyone or hurt innocents and to them that makes us week. If we still had the bombers, a couple of the old arc light raids on ISIS territory would settle them right down.

Well with troops in Iraq an Afghanistan is really is a juggling act. But only because the pussaie are calling the shots. If they had a set we could do whatever we needed to over there, build some roads or some such for their trouble and leave when we were done.

5 Arab country's have came on board to the coalition.

Qatar is the main supplier of weapons and money to Hezbolla in the Israel conflict. They are now our allies.

So, we have enemy's that are now our friends, that are attacking our allies?

Somebody help me with this one.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend...

Sounds like the "Arab" countries have a plan. Now, let's bring all our troops and stuff home, quit giving money to any #$%sucker that doesn't eat pork, and call it done.

Will not make a bit of difference. If we ignore them they will do something to get our attention. They want the power that being important brings. You notice that even though the UK and France did far more in the middle east then we ever did, we are the Great Satan to them.

Huh. You'd think they'd try to get China's attention, then, wouldn't you?
