Who else was in Germany when the wall fell? Either Mil or Civ. What do you remember?
My lids mother was there...brought back a piece of the wall.

I was stationed in Belgium and on vacation in London. It was surreal....ended up helping prep our Detachment HQ at Pruem Air Station in Germany for use as a potential refugee camp. Very strange days for someone who grew up expecting to go to war in Europe....
I was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in the old Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) flying F-4G Wild Weasels when the Wall came down.
I have a small piece of the wall sitting on my desk at work.
Missed it by that much. ETS in April of 89. I talked to friends in Hardheim (part of 6/52 ADA), and they went to 20-minute state for several days.

slow azzz 50's era cars, so odd that a technologically advanced west germany and the east was like walking out of the 50's at best. Westerners hated them. But it was like winning the lottery for the east. Freedom at last to visit relatives they hadn't seen in decades. C co. 2/4 INF Heilbronn, FRG
I wasn't there, I do remember lying to my friends and telling them that you were bringing me a piece of the wall. All I got was chocolate.
