What would my company do? Would they be calling me and asking where said equipment is? Would I keep ignoring their calls and emails? What in tarnation could happen?

They might report it as stolen, and if someone took it to a pawn shop and they report the serial numbers correctly, the photo ID that the pawn shop requires will lead the police to someones front doot. Lying to a pawnbroker is a felony, they don't have to prove that you stole it, but if someone says they have owned it for say 6 months, and the company says they owned it up until a month ago, there will be a problem.
Get another job?
I shipped a piece of testing equipment to my corporate office for repairs and they lost it. They have now gone silent on any replies via email and phone calls.
That may not be by choice
How much did you sell it for though?
I've been trying for 10 years to get fired. Even requesting it, and yet I'm still here.
