...You can take this for what it’s worth, maybe ($0.02). Savage makes a fine rifle in a 12 long range precision. Being that you don’t reload I suggest 6.5 Creedmoor. Hornady and Copper Creek make match grade ammo for the Creed. Its ballistics will get you beyond 1,000yds, recoil is greatly reduced and barrel life is greater...
This would be my suggestion as well. If/when I get back into the long-range game, I'll go this route.

Don't they have a long waiting list to get in?

not always, members come and go. when i joined, the cap was 1600 members. its way over that now but surprisingly there are days when its not busy at all. get on the okcgc site and print off the application. fill it out and send it in. then just wait for an email. might take weeks or months depending on when they have enough openings
