If you're overrun with them, set traps with jelly or PB, sticky traps as well. Stuff any cracks or holes in walls to the outside with steel wool. Poison under the cabinets and behind the fridge, freezers, etc.

I use a snap trap with a pinch of white bread squished around the metal latch.
Try large and small traps.. got 2 mice at 1 time with the large trap.
Buddy had one smart rat that would jump over the sticky traps.. we set them all over the place and close together like a maze.
Finally got him. we kept moving the sticky traps a couple inches...He was about 3" diameter and as long as the trap without counting the tail..

Placement is often key to trap success. Mice like to move along the walls. So place traps along the walls or next to cabinets that go all the way to the floor. Celery and carrots is probably not the best choice for bait. Peanut butter has a strong smell and its sticky so it stays put better.

Some say you can try soda pop.
You can also put out shallow saucers of carbonated pop. The mice will drink it and they can't burp. So if its fresh pop and still has carbonation, it will cause them problems.
