They pretty much all get compacted at some point. The best thing I have found is to figure out when they are stocking shelves and say "Hey can I get some of those boxes before they get crushed." Otherwise small stores that do a lot of turnover. I believe the petsmart's or petco's would be another place to stop by. I got quite a few at the one off of NW expressway when I was moving a few years ago.

Another place is Aldi's they don't have bags so they often keep boxes for people to use. If they have some extra's you can probably snag them.

I have some old fertilizer boxes and I recycle them. Most of the time they never make it into the dumpster someone there always asks me if they can have them for moving probably have 15 or 20 on hand and you're welcome to them but they are in Norman

Thanks everyone for the responses. Ended up at Lowe’s. $1.50 per large box wasn’t bad so I bought a bunch.
