First let me say I don't take very good pics. I will try to get my grand daughter to take some more for me later. At that time I will take the rifle out of its stock so you can see the block placed in the ammo box of the rifle. These are just to show you how it looks and tell you how it shot. Here are the the specifics of this build:
Action- Remington 700 Long
Barrel- Shilen XX grade hand lapped at factory 2 times, 1-12 twist, chambered for .308 size bullets (cannot shoot .310 or 311 sized ammo in it) Stainless heavy barrel trimmed to 19".
Trigger- Shilen 1-4 pound adjustable
Stock- Stocky's synthetic with aluminum block action inlet
Scope Rail- Warne 20 moa Picatinny Steel
Rings- Leopold Steel 30mm Mediums
Scope- Hawke Sidewinder 30mm 6-20x42 Mil Dot
Note: the grouping in the pics was done by the gunsmith using a Leupold 3-9x40 at 100 yds.
Ammo - Lapua brass, large winchester primer, 125 grain sp with 24 grains of 1680
The rifle weights 9.5 lbs. I was not present when he shot the 5 rd grouping at 100yds but will say the 79 yr old gunsmith is still a pretty good shot. He has his own range that goes out to 400yds. 3 of the 5 in the grouping are touching and measure .71 center to center he said. For the first 5 rounds after getting on paper I think it shot very well.
Well every time I try to post a pic after posting it there is a message in red that says "there was a problem uploading your file".
If anyone knows what I should do to remedy this I would like to know. Or if I can send the pics to someone that knows what to do they can post them in a post under this thread. IM LOST on this one as I have never had an issue with posting pics here. The camera was set at 1600x1200 but even at that it should post at least one.
