Thought I'd post this video of my daughter at her swim meet this weekend. She turned 11 in Feb and is a 5'4" lean muscle knot. She decided she wanted to "swim race" two years ago and about a year ago, seeing the potential, we put her on the USA Swimming affiliated club here in Edmond (Extreme Aquatic Team).
In one year, she has gone bonkers. She won some races and was like a pit bull with the taste of blood in her mouth. She became obsessed with her times and competing. She swims at least 2 hours per day. Five days per week. She hates it when we make her take a day off.
She swam on a 14yrs and under relay team that took second yesterday too. She qualified for the 12 and under Age Group State Championships coming up in Jenks and will swim the 50 meter freestyle there. This is a kid that two year ago received applause when completing her first race because she was soo far behind.
She still has two winter seasons and a summer season to go in this age group before aging up since she just turned 11.
She's the one I've mentioned that makes the paracord bracelets and such. Can't tell you how proud I am of this little girl.
