My wife has worked for her job since 2004! She started as a data entry clerk and worked her way up to financial director. She was currently the deputy director. She has never been written up and has been given employee of the month numerous times. They called her in today about 30 minutes before 5 and gave her a letter stating they were terminating her employment and that since they are “at will” they didn’t need a reason. My wife asked what she did to deserve being fired and the guy just says “it doesn’t matter it ain’t gonna change anything”. It is a tribe. She is white so there are a lot of Indians that hate her guts because of her race. I am sickened by this and don’t know what we are going to do. I don’t make nearly enough to support us. And she can’t find a job making close to what she did with the benefits she had. And we will lose her good blue cross insurance. I can add her to mine but it’s expensive and our insurance sucks. So now we are a new statistic. Please say a prayer for us if you would. Hopefully she can find something good that she will be happy with and we don’t lose everything we have.
PM me and tell me what she wants to do and any cetifications...yada...yada. But please pm

Easy to find the reason - which of the chief’s relatives or friends needed a job at that salary?
You got that right. A friend was hired as the CFO of one the tribes around Ponca.(He is Native) He found the employees of the casino were writing bad checks and not being dunned for reimbursement when they bounced.
He gave them 30 days to pay up or be fired. Zero payed a dime.
He fired them all and hired new folks from the tribe. The folks fired were walking picket lines along the highway on my way to work.
Didn't take long before the friend was fired and the new employees fired along with him.
The old employees went right back to work.
Amazing how that system works when your a leader of an autonomous nation.

Sorry to hear and nothing to add that hasn't been said above other than it might take a year or too or longer, but you'll both look back and see how it all worked out for the best. Even though it definitely doesn't seem like that now.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully with all that experience she will find something worthwhile soon.

It hurts to lose your income and have to cut way back on things. I've been through it a few times myself.

I'll send prayers for your family.
