I was going through a tin of old cartridges tonight and found this. I never knew what it was, hopefully I will know by tomorrow.
It measures 0.542 just above the rim, 0.450 at the neck, and the bullet is 0.425. First guess would be a rimfire, but it could be an internally primed cartridge. The early .45Colts did not have a visible primer.
