Lexol will dry and color returns in less than an hour. I like neatsfoot for saddles, ball mits etc. but for my fine leather, I use Lexol. Just my opinion.I've noticed the neatsfeet does as well, about 24 hrs for normal color to come back

I am looking at getting some neatsfoot oil for my holsters, do I use it liberally or heavy
Neatsfoot oil will ruin a leather holster. The more you put on it, the faster it turns into soft shapeless mush.
Ask me how I know.
Cleaner/conditioners are available for holsters.

Is this also true with horsehide?
I thought liberally meant that he took the oil from someone else.Aren't the two terms similar? I put it on pretty heavy when conditioning my leather though
