Needs some scope recommendations

For that rifle, starting from scratch, I'd run with a Bushnell Elite 6500, 1.25-8x32mm.

You didn't specify budget so..... My answer of course would be completely different on different budgets.

Nikon Prostaff 3X9-40 with the BDC reticle is tough to beat for the price and I prefer Nikon to Bushnell, strictly personal preference.

Nikon vote here for me too. I have two prostaffs and one bushmasters. All are very good with the bushmaster a little better on light visibility. Never had any problems with zero after changing powers.

I have this one on my Marlin and love it. I think a 3x9 isn't worth the extra weight.

I believe it was bushnell i saw had a 30-30 reticle in one of their scopes.
