I am going to go with a WW2 German tank too. Some of the engines were very complex and did not work well.

OK I had to look it up, I was close but no cigar. I had never even heard of that engine.

Incidentally, I hadn't ever heard of it either, and I only heard of it because of seeing a YouTube video. I guess that not being a gear-head is reason enough to have been ignorant of this engine.

While it was "figured out" that the engine was for a tank, no one actually named the tank. Oddly enough, it was an American tank and the engine was designed and built by Chrysler. The Sherman M4A4 ended up not being popular with the American forces, but it was provided to the British, who grew to like that version of the Sherman.
