Did not get out with bow this morning, but sat in stand with rifle on pig patrol for a bit before work. Of course one of the shooter bucks comes in there oblivious. He chased tail until I got up to leave. Saw several smaller bucks, all had the same thing in mind.

Have really been dissatisfied with my stand positioning this year. Former productive stands have been ghost towns and some of my new locations are not exactly where they need to be. Going to chalk that up to poor scouting and bad luck. Have seen some big deer, but they are always out of range. Threw a couple of climbers in today and going to go set them up at lunch to see if I can get back in the game where I need to be.

Marriage gets the best of em! Goodluck man, hope you can salvage the season.

Went driving around this morning a little to much oilfield traffic was out. Every road I drove down I would meet somebody. I seen 3 does 2 of them in different locations were out in the middle of wheat field my themselves no fawn. they appeared to be chased out of the cover. Another doe was bedded in some grass 50 yards off the road. I just knew there was a buck bedded close by if there was I could find one. and 1 yote. Funny thing about the yote he was off the road about 200 yrds in a wheat field. I came by a hour later and he was within of 100 yrds where I had seen it earlier. I guess it could of been a different one idk.

Saw a couple nice bucks on the cam. I hope they stick around for a few more years. The one with the tall beam will be hard to pass up.

Saw a really nice 8 chasing on the way to my stand in an area I can't hunt. I've been sitting since 10am and had a yearling doe bed 40 yards away for an hour. Other than that, dead.

Getting tons of doe Picts and small bucks. Did get this one on cam. Young needs two more years. Seeing lots of activity with small bucks trailing does. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1447445564.803326.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1447445574.641385.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1447445588.815705.jpg

Has a kicker off his base a lot like the buck I harvested last year. Unless a stud that's living on the neighbor makes it too my side I'll most likely just thin the does out this year.

Beautiful morning, 28 degrees and still. Both my son and I sat from 6:10am to 11:15Am and neither of us saw a single deer. I have yet to see any real signs of a rut! Back in the stand at 1:45, and bored enough to be checking out OSA. Hopefully it will pick up

I'm still seeing little to no rutting activity between Piedmont and Okarche. Bucks are still running together and in some pics, eating with the does. Only indication I got on camera this week were two little 6 pts rattling antlers, then went back to eating together. Also got a pic of a new 12 pt that I have never seen before, though he walked in and was eating with 3 doe and a basket racked buck. No signs of agression and no butt sniffing or lip curling at all.

I'm hoping rut gets rolling good for next weekend. It's fun to watch my girls get excited when they see bucks chasing.
