The doublethink that pro death penalty people have is astounding.

In my opinion, the problem isn't so much the judicial system or the current state of the government. The true deterrent to crime and truly benefiting out nation lies completely in our parental system. If everyone didn't get a trophy, the difference between right and wrong instilled in our children, a hard day's work ethic and genuine concern for your neighbor was focused on; we wouldn't need the death penalty. However, we know this doesn't happen and for those who don't understand how to be a decent human being and not torture and murder their fellow man, they get the death penalty. We shouldn't set them free or banish them to become someone else's problem, they should be sent to be judged by their maker.
The condemned man had the benefit of YEARS of a trial and representation by attorneys. This is a system put into place by men in government so as to afford the criminal "due process." What due process was afforded his victims? What attorney was there at the crime scene to advise the perpetrators or defend the victim?
The Bible also teaches that we are to follow the laws of government, but do you really think that God will tolerate those that have knowingly and willingly aborted unborn babies? Was there any "legal representation" and appeals process available to them?
Perhaps we should go back to firing squads and hanging.
Oh, and for those "chastising" Christians, how do you know the people to whom you are writing are Christians?
Cnn has now picked up this story.......I have a feeling this is going to be a sh1t storm

Yeah cause the other systems put in place by men in government are so great.
I mostly agree there...I just don't think the death penalty is serving as any sort of an example for those who are the result of failed upbringing, broken minds, misquided souls, or just plain evil.
I dont disagree Mr. RidgeHunter. Perhaps hanging, electrocution, or beheading would be more humane. In my opinion the major problem with the death penalty is its inconsistent application rather than the method.
Not really. At least one can argue that the intent of the military is national self-defense. Policy decisions and utilization arguments aside.
No one can argue that the death penalty, after the fact, of a individual in-custody is self-defense.
Vengeance, Revenge, Reckoning? Sure, I guess. But I think stripping them of their identities and casting them out is a better solution.
