I just sold 2 such rifles. IMO I would build / buy 2 different rifles instead of sharing the lower. For one, I do like a heavier "Battle" trigger on my combat setup. I prefer a different style grip on a combat rifle aswell. On the varmint rifle I put a rock river two-stage match trigger in the lower for more precision shots. The carbine had an adjustable stock which was perfect because I always left it all the way collapsed. The Varmint type rifle had a Magpul PRS to balance the rifle and help with cheekweld consistancy. The weight of a 24" barrel makes a rifle with a 6 position stock extremely unconfortable to carry and even shoot off a bench or prone.

I have been through all the scenarios with these 2 rifles and would never recomend such mission specific rifles to share the same lower.

Hope this helps

Why have 2 when you can have 3?

I have One for "combat style/speed" (BCM midlength 16" BFH)
one for Hunting (camo, started out as a R-15 but I made it my own)
and One for 3 gun and rifle matches (mostly spike's 16" WOA stainless)
Oh and a Nordic Components NC22 upper for practice and play.
