Last years drought put all of my mater plants into recession.
In the fall I had tons of green ones. With a hard freeze looming, I picked some of the green ones and pickled them.
DaUm! They are good.
This season, I'm going to put some jalepeno's in the jars to make them spicy.

Also did some pickled bell peppers. Very good as well!
Anybody else?

I used to fish on the Hadden ranch. I'm sure you know of it.
Rita gave me a standing order to bring all of the jalepeno's I grew, in exchange for her Chow-Chow.
I was happy to oblige.:D

I pickled a bunch of okra and peppers last year. I did several jars of okra with habaneros. They were outstanding! This
year I plan to try some with ghost peppers. I like the hot stuff!

i dont like plain tomatoes, but i like them in any other form. i have never tried pickled green ones.

maybe we can put together a swap meet for canned goods? i make some killer picante sauce (2nd place county fair) and my wild plum jelly took first place. i have also done grape from my own grape vine. this year, the apricots are looking great. just need some rain.
