Piston ARs...

Anyone own one? Looking for LWRC, LMT, AA, PWS, ??? Feedback.

Leaning heavily towards a LWRC but listening to all options. Just want quality and reliability. Any experiences out there?

Seemingly, the 556 is getting good reviews over on arfcom, their only gripe is that it's heavy?

According to Ruger's web site, the thing weighs in at just under 8 lbs. Any American WW2 or Korean War front-line veteran would snort at that

From reading it seems like Ruger is getting its act together. The Ruger did have some teething problems in the begining but they all seem to have one problem or another. I really want to try out the Ruger. My thing is I have a hard time justifying the price for it over a DI that has not been a problem for me. Now if I had a suppressor, that is a different story.

I have a 556 and it is a little on the front heavy side but its not to bad, some people dont like the 1-9 barrel but it works for what I want to do with it and it very accurate. I mean come on 3 pmags and troy flip ups make it a pretty good deal.

I'm sure, things have gotten all "tactical" and lightweight since then.

The Daniel Defense Omega Rails really brings the weight down on the piston AR I shoot.

I have a LWRC M6A2 5.56 10.5 SBR W/AAC M4-2000.

I love this gun, cleaning is a snap so far very reliable, accurate and fun to shoot.
