I have zero clue as to different State styles of Pizza and I worked at Godfathers pizza.
It's a pizza.
You have different crusts to choose from and different toppings and different sauces and it was all that way in the 80's here in Oklahoma and probably everywhere else around that time.
Panther, Puma, Mountain lion, Cougar.
Same cat but different area people call it something different. I suppose different states need a claim to fame.

in 1978 when I was 8 years old an Italian family moved to our town from Chicago and opened a pizza parlor “Tony’s Little Italy”, they were 3rd generation in the business. Been eating Tony’s for 45 years so I’ll have to vote Chicago. Truthfully I always thought there were two choices, Chicago and New York and don’t have a clue what the others are.

I'm not sure how they're figuring Oklahoma for Chicago-style pizza. It's certainly not reflected in our pizza joints, which are overwhelmingly New York style.
Rantoul AFB had some awesome Pizza Places around it. Hit Chicago most every weekend eating Chicago Pizza too.
IMO, pizza is pizza is pizza. As long as it does not have spinich and Alfredo sauce on it.
I must say if I'm alone and ordering a pizza for myself, I kinda like BBQ chicken or good ol' supreme.
