Please recommend a Karate place for 6 yo...

Hi,

I'm looking for a place to start my son out in Karate. Does anyone have some experiences with particular places and recommendations? BA would be more convenient, but I am willing to go further for better instruction.

Is he still teaching? I went there about 2005-2006. Interesting guy.

IMO the best thing for a kid is Judo. Practical training, healthy competition, and it's almost always super cheap.

Are you open to any other types of martial arts? or only Karate?

I would consider the boxing program in Broken Arrow. It's usually cheap, effective, definitely won't be afraid of being hit, it instills just as much confidence, and a solid work ethic. My favorite boxing facility is team lethal boxing off Mingo between 51 and 61.
Later on...I would consider Krav Maga with one of your local firefighters Kent Stockstill...kravtulsa.com
